Car Roffers, what are the thoughts on these? I am looking at getting one (around 1-2 y/o with about 10k on) because I'm tired of relying on Avanti and Euston to get me back to the motherland when I need to visit family.
Looks to me that the Kia Ceed is a solid, well-specced car for the money. Buying a newish used one from dealership gets you either the balance of the 7-year warranty, or a topped-up 7-year warranty which seems good too.
Does anyone have any experiences?

I’ve had a Kia. Decent kit solid well built good warranty. Slow though - if that matters

Have driven one, but only briefly. They make quite good sense on paper but very dull to drive. Would also try a similar age or older Focus, maybe a Mazda 3, if shopping for that sort of car.
How much are the ones you're looking at ? You can get about 15% off a new one, hopefully s/h market has calmed down now so that you get worthwhile saving at 1-2 y/o...

i've rented one a couple of times. it's utterly un-memorable. which suggests it does exactly what it needs to do, no more, no less, and it's very reliable.

I test drove a ProCeed recently with the 1.5 turbo, which had enough push for what I'll need really. 0-60 is around 8s so not the fastest on the road by a long way.
On budget, I'm hoping to put down about £2-2.5k and spend a max of £250pm. This is what's led me to the Ceed, as nothing else seems to come close on value for money. In a Ceed, I can get the heated seats and wheel etc with a good tech set up, whereas the more 'established' brands will only offer a very basic spec car.
Very helpful input so far though, thanks!

Should add as well that I want a pure petrol, not quite ready to transition to electric or hybrid, hence the Mazda 3 is struck off.

It's all v sensible. Kind of what Toyotas used to be.
