People who use exercise as a way to manage stress

have u not tried alcohol?

Exercise is therapeutic. It clears the brain cells. Whatever chemicals course through your system when exercising have a positive effect on physical and mental health.

It helps one think.

It's best done alone; find yourself some space. Exercise is one of the best 'me time' things you can do (in addition to other activities such as reading).

I exercise indoors every day; stretch, cardio, small hand-weights, press-ups. I'm on an 800-plus day streak. I've lost the belly and about 1.5 inches off the waist so I need  a new belt as my jeans look baggy. The metal clips on my braces go almost to my shoulders now. I fit into my jackets and coats without risking pinging the buttons/ being unable to fasten them.

Alcohol is not a good de-stresser. Take that off the list.

Drink for pleasure

Exercise for health

Drinking for stress relief is not a good option. I love the booze but my golden rule is to only use it as an enhancer, not an escape

Probably used to manage stress with booze but I have now reduced the sources of stress in my life. I'm not sure I use exercise in particular to manage stress but I'm sure it helps. I've used regular mid-length (e.g. 50-70k) solo bike rides to work my way through a lot of scenarios and it really helped me out of a career trough. It's good thinking time.

In other news, it took 6 emergency responders to remove the body of a local man from his unusually shaped house in the early hours of this morning.

It is believed that the alarm was raised by the victim’s wife who had been woken by the sound of pedestrian r&b.

Preliminary post mortem investigations reveal a blood alcohol level that would have rendered the victim legally incapable of driving for a further dozen hours after his death.

And now over to Suzy for the weather…..
