Not strictly on point but why do American books have to have 500 words of explainer on the front  cover. Is it too much for a person to turn a book over or read the inside cover ffs?

Presumably, Chuffers, they need to explain that she is a former PM of the UK, then explain what the UK is. 

Americans seem profoundly unbothered by vast amounts of text. Their print publications and websites are all very blocky and wordy.
