Supermarket delivery ppl - do i tip or not?

My wife is asking. I just said no but she’s worried we’re the only people not tipping them.

Tips?

Not in normal times no.

But give it another 6 months of Brexit chaos and you’ll be giving them blow jobs for the last remaining loaf of Warburtons.

Although the lucky worker will no doubt be required to report it as a benefit in kind and pay NI and HSC on it, so they may not be able to afford to have you take them to completion.

I always tip our Indian takeaway driver - he turns up from a journey across town of about 4 miles, often in the evening rush hour, and in the last 15 deliveries he has never been more than 5 mins early/late from the designated time.

Having lived in both America and England, tipping for everything is very much an Americanism. Haircut? Tip. Waitress? Tip. Bartender? Tip. Guy hands you a paper towel in the toilet? Tip.

Seems odd to pay someone for a job they’re already being paid for.
