this morning I went and got a beauty treatment and it was so delightful and normal. No masks no mimsying. Just some hand sanitiser.
on thursday I shall go and get my hair done but I fear he will want me to wear a mask and when I say technically am exempt he might be furious

I just had a mani/pedi and didn’t wear a mask (Although beautician did). Also had my haircut last week and neither of us wore masks. And the bonus was all treatments were in the comfort of my home (not for lockdown/fear reasons but because baby). Annoying that I had to cancel facial treatments tho. Massage booked on Wednesday (also at my home) and I don’t intend to wear a mask then either (I suspect that the masseuse will, although not at my request)

Why are you exempt from wearing a mask?

I wore a mask throughout my haircut. Seemed the right thing to do

I showed up to my barbershop appointment this weekend with a mask. They asked me if I would mind NOT wearing it. Was happy to oblige.

I refuse to wear a mask on the basis that I'm so handsome it would be a crime to hide my visage from others.

It’s not vain it’s self Care and I LOVE IT
mani / pedi this morning and it was a lovely experience (despite mask, but mine is a linen one and it was actually quite comfortable for the duration to the point I didn’t feel like it was there).
no coffee there ofc but I read my magazine and delighted in the experience. I had 2 ingrown toenails which I’ll add to the list of corona costs
am now at the hair salon getting my keratin treatment done and a cut. It’s a mask here and everything is single use - towels and gowns so it’s a bit grim and not fun for environment but I love my hairdresser. Will be my first time back on the tube to get home later as they have expanded and he is at tbe new branch in hampstead

I’m quite hungry tho and thirsty. This is a downside of a multi hour treatment isn’t it. Usually have coffee and cake and biscuits.

I agree re self care, bad grooming is a sign of being unwell and it was horrible to ban it
And totally re the environment. Imagine what all those billions of single use things will do for the sea :(
Ps re the hand sanitiser he didn't make you use it it was just there if you wanted
I am in love with my pragmatic Glaswegian aesthetician

Don't bother. It's all part of our national regression to the 70s. Grow a massive hairy bush and flaunt it.

Damn it. First time I've not been glad to live in a country that isn't regressing to the 70s.

Injecty stuff?
It’s my eyebrow threading I want done more than anything as they can def transform my face to something better but maybe I’ll just stick some pins in between them and go for a youthful startled look.

Waxing booked for end of the month. Hair this weekend. Have doled out on skincare for myself anyway and my eyebrows seem to just never grow, so that saves a bit....

You could literally see where my team inc me was at in terms of their mental health in lockdown with hair / dress / make up etc.
it all got a bit sad and then someone just turned up for our team meeting looking nice and normal and weve all sorted ourselves out a bit and it’s a lot more enjoyable

They probably think this thread is about them, don't they? DON'T THEY?
Oh, it is. OK, move along, move along. Nothing to see here.
