This week lawyers in Lycra throughout the country are preparing to take part in the biggest charity event in the legal sector – which this year can be followed live on www.tourdelaw.com on 28 and 29 September 2016.

Tour de Law is the annual indoor cycling competition that brings together top law firms to race against each other over 1000km, the distance of from London to Paris, and back again. This year, the event will take place on Wednesday 28 September and Thursday 29 September 2016, ahead of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.

Calum Roscow, Event Manager at Breast Cancer Care said: “Not only will firms be aiming to finish before their rivals, but they will be uniting as ‘Law firms vs breast cancer’ in order to raise £100,000 for Breast Cancer Care, enough to fund the UK-wide ‘Living with Secondary Breast Cancer’ sessions for an entire year.”

This year’s competitors include Addleshaw Goddard (Leeds, London & Manchester offices), Eversheds (Birmingham & London offices), Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Herbert Smith Freehills, Latham & Watkins, Memery Crystal, Norton Rose Fulbright, Proskauer, RPC, Sidley Austin, Simmons & Simmons, Wedlake Bell, Wright Hassall and Reed Smith.

New to the competition this year, Jules Quinn, a partner at King & Spaling said: “This is King & Spalding’s first time taking part in Breast Cancer Care’s Tour de Law and we’re really excited for it!  The whole firm has come together to raise money for such a good cause, as well as harnessing that competitive spirit in the office.”

Also joining the race for the first time Clint Evans, Director of Brand & Talent at RPC said: "We're excited to be competing in the Tour De Law for the first time this year. It's the perfect opportunity to get together as a firm and raise money for a great cause. We're offering internal prizes in categories including best fancy dress; we're hoping the event will be fun, but will also help to raise awareness – we've already had staff writing blogs about their own experiences with breast cancer."
