I am a 28 year old solicitor, taking a leap of faith from my career in law to apply for the 'Nicest Job in Britain' and become the nation's charity champion!

What is the Nicest Job in Britain?

A national competition to find one person to become the nation's charity champion, travel around Britain and get their hands dirty, working with 40 amazing charities in one year and raising their profiles by rolling up sleeves, writing blogs and making videos.

Why you?

I was proud to finally qualify as a solicitor in 2013 after years of hard work and study and I am grateful to all those who played a part in that journey. I have long harboured a feeling that in amongst all the leather bound books and mahogany clad rooms (ahem!) there was also something more I could offer the world.

You can watch my short campaign video right here.

Why do you want to do the job?

On a personal level - travelling, meeting people, championing causes, writing and making silly videos are four of my favourite activities (counting was never one of them!) I truly believe I would be the perfect fit.

I also hold a genuine belief that making a difference doesn’t have to be about the big things, sometimes the smallest things can have the biggest impact, be it a well timed ‘how are you?’ and cup of tea or a random act of kindness from a stranger. All across our country there are thousands of people making a difference and doing good things every day. These great people and causes are often under celebrated and this is what makes the Nicest Job in Britain so important.

How can I vote?

Voting is free and literally takes five seconds (believe me I’ve timed it!) all you need to do is follow the link right here and click the button “vote here” below my campaign video. You can also vote on multiple devices, mobiles, laptops etc. and do so every 24 hours (if you so choose!)

Thank you and best wishes, Alice

When I were a lad in the scouts we were always told a good deed isn't a good deed if you tell people you did it.
