BBC Radio 5 Live is looking for professional workers who might admit to being a bit lonely at times, maybe work demands too much of your time or you’ve sacrificed your personal life for your career or you might appear to have it all but still feel isolated. The station’s afternoon show is broadcasting live from a venue in London on Thursday 24th of March and would be keen to hear from people who’d like to talk about their experiences of loneliness.

Not sure about that. It's tough to maintain friendships when you are working 70 hour weeks for months on end.

Those hours can also have a detrimental effect on one's personality. One can become selfish and self-absorbed when one is in self-preservation mode for too long.

You could make a whole programme on lonliness using the tragic idiots who post on this forum. Having said that, it will quickly become apparent to the viewer that the reason these people are lonley has less to do with their profession and more to do with the fact they are deeply unpleasant, narcissistic sociopaths.
