You just have to choose the right one for the kids but I'm sure Manchester will have plenty. My kids (10 and 11) loved the one we did as a family but probably would have shat themselves if they'd done the Jack the Ripper one I did at a work event
There is an interesting escape room experience in the old prison in Shrewsbury which is a bit out of the ordinary (you get to wear a prison uniform if you want to).
Crystal Maze basically is just a giant escape room... Most escape rooms are modelled on it to some degree I think
Did it last year with friends as an adult but with the advantage of heavily discounted tickets from my old job
Probably a bit spenny at normal prices . Props to the live actors , I'll never understand how they keep the energy levels up when they must be as bloody tired of the schtick as I am of looking at spreadsheets

You can go back - there are lots of other challenge rooms. Tho it's all a bit tired, chipped and tattered now.

Yeah I think we will go back. The Manc one was all good to be fair.

Thanks Wang but not quite the same level of "we all loved doing that together" energy.
Will try the escape room idea, Gorlami, although it didn't tickle my fancy before we did the Maze,

I did ninja warrior with the kids.
I looked on the fat non-participant parents guzzling crisps and coke in the "cafe" with unadulterated scorn.
I can see that it might not be your cup of tea if you're worried you would fail to get up the wall... 😉

Escape Rooms - Shrewsbury Prison
Apologies if that link doesn't work, I can never get the hang of how to do links on this site.

Thanks Windy Miller. Coincidentally going to test drive a car in Shrewsbury today so have booked the prison thing for me and my son. Will report back!

Apparently there's an escape room in Crewe.
The tentacles of gentrification can reach anywhere, it seems.

Not just any escape room, apparently the escape room ranked number 1 in the world!
I thought there had been some confusion and Crewe was ranked number 1 place in the world people want to escape from.

The transport links are decent for Crewe, tbf, so not the world's hardest escape hovel.
Always thought it was odd the A500 carefully avoided actually going to Crewe.
