As far as I can tell Rishi’s grand scheme is zero incentive for zero hours contract users, and it still makes sense to bin 3-4 workers and get 1 to do their jobs if possible. I expect most businesses are now at the point where being nice to staff is overtaken by the size of the loan or mortgage repayments the owners have to make. Presumably they will start to blame employers for failing to use government “help”.
