Bottle caps

anyone else caught out by this new design?  Twisting, effing and jeffing that it wasn't put on properly as the cap doesn't come off.... and then you get one that isn't connected this way, twist it all the way and drop the cap on the floor...

first world problems but I hate unexpected changes like this.

Worst change ever. I violently tear off the attached ones, often leaving a sharp needle of plastic attached to the bottle ready to spike me or anyone else. Awful.

Dear Coca-Cola,

I'm a fan of your fizzy beverages and have enjoyed them for many decades now.

Recently, I bought one of these fine sugary waters and struggled removing the cap in order to drink directly from the bottle.  It appears to me that you have either had a fault with your bottle capping machine or, you have deliberately changed the design of said caps without informing the public.

After much struggle removing the cap and failing to do so, I proceeded to drink the contained liquid whilst shoving the still attached cap up my right nostril, a very uncomfortable sensation I'm sure you will agree.  Once I'd had my fill, I struggled to reseal this cap and when returning the bottle to my back pack, it managed to leak the remaing juice out over the contents of my bag.

As a result, I now have sticky spectacles and my oyster card doesn't work anymore.

It's a shame as it was my birthday and it ruined what was otherwise a most enjoyable day.

I respectfully await your response as to how you will rectify this matter going forward.

Yours,

Disgruntled.

I am addicted to Diet Coke and Vanilla Coke Zero.

Somewhat shockingly I am now often opting for a Cherry Pepsi Max when I need a fix of chemical loveliness BECAUSE THEY HAVE PROPER FRICKING CAPS

The requirement that the caps remain attached is mandatory in EU from some time this year.  Most drinks manufacturers don't see the UK as a big enough market to do something different in UK so will apply the same requirement here.  This is a good example of how even outside the EU, the common market and a customs union, EU rules will still impact significantly on the EU but the UK will have no input in devising them.

I’m saving the whales and helping clean up the ocean so it’s all good.

But hold on, the EU mandates it? Well it’s a disaster then and a shocking infringement of my liberty.

Sovereignty means killing whales. Or something.

FREE THE CAP!
