Brands that you expect to go bust soon

following Body Shop and Matches Fashion, who is next?

I'm amazed that Ted Baker is still going personally

There are apparently numerous household names for whom suppliers can’t get credit insurance.
A tell tale sign of impending doom is when they stop selling lottery tickets.

consumer spending is recovering, cost inflation is now negligible and interest rates will shortly be returning to ZIRP levels

so we’ll probably see some lagging indicator insolvencies (not including Argos FFS - Argos is what people with any sense use to buy bargain electricals, rather than amazon) but the worst of this economic cycle is over

Argos is part of Sainsbury's now (along with Habitat) and lots of their shops have been moved into Sainsbury's so I can't see them binning that off.

John Lewis must be pretty close to the death zone. Without Waitrose I think they'd be gone already.

Be very sad to see John Lewis go but difficult to see the model survive - it’s already gone to a large extent - but a great loss to the less price sensitive shopper who’d like a bit of product knowledge and service.

UK-based sustainable or biofuels fuels makers

Small UK EV makers or related industries

UK Cannabinoid producers

Electric or hybrid UK aircraft makers

Battery makers or chip-makers (unless sold to China) for EV and IT  market

...because this Tory Govt won't invest in them, unlike the USA...(except for Mullen)

e.g.

Velocys

Saietta

British Volt

AMTE

Btw, that could also be due to p*ss poor management also, but govt investment could have drawn better-qualified people.

There's no space for small and med cap disruptive tech plcs on the UK.

They should relocate to USA, France, Germany or Switzerland. Do an IPO on NASDAQ.

The UK is still one of the best, though, for defence industry.
