You should never handle judges, they then lose the scent of the RCJ and won't be accepted back.
If you do see a judge on it's own, leave it a few minutes to see if it's clerk comes back. If not tempt it into a cardboard box with a glass of port and take it to the nearest court where skilled hhandlers will be able to put it back on the bench.
