Chelsea boots are fine in the summer but nobody wants DM's or the like in summer as just too sweaty. There's a reason why once it's dry enough I ditch my hiking boots in favour of hiking or trail running shoes.
Right now I am wearing a pair of Skechers, dark blue. They work.
I noticed when I was in hospital a couple of years ago that all the doctors, nurses and other medics were wearing them. They run around all over the place all day and night. Must work for them too.

brown leather boots - not sure what the season has to do with it - do your ankles get particularly hot in the summer?

Some sort of dark/smart trainers.

Not sure I'd wear trainers to see a client. No boots in summer. It's weird.

I'm sporting some rather tasteful brown suede lace ups today. Also have a pair of black leather loafers.

Brown brogues with dark chinos. Desert boots with jeans to 'dress up', a pair of Mid Jordans if casual.

I have to say I feel the 'with feet' qualification in the thread title is a little bit unnecessary

In the winter, black or brown suede shoes.
In the summer, brown deck shoes.

Depending on what else I'm wearing, black/dark brown loafers or Oxfords.
If jaunting about in the countryside or on a social outing I'd wear a pair of light brown brogues, but then only with light coloured clothes.

I think Skechers work as business-appropriate smart casual.
(That thud you heard is clubman collapsing on the floor.)

Heh. Not sure feetless men keep up with smart casual summer feet over fashions. Nor does Chambo.

Don't worry Jelly, I have a row of Nike trainers, Timberland desert boots and black lace up Churches. I wear them all.
Thanks for your concern.
