Hello HSB. Quite a lot has happened since March. My father in law passed away, my mother in law has been moved into the dementia ward, and on Sunday we brought home a rescue dog who is on trial with us for two weeks. We are working hard to ease him into our household routine while making sure my 6 year old dog adjusts too.

Plus getting my head around a new way of working.

Hi Monkeygirkl, I am sorry to hear that your father in law has passed away. My mother died a few weeks ago of a combination of dementia and pneumonia. Mercifully she died just before total lockdown. We were able to hold a funeral under ‘social distancing’. We were all Catholic in the far distance. My mother retained her faith. The priest was excellent and I felt a brief ‘returning home’, immersed in the still familiar liturgy.

I hope your rescue dog is settling in. How lovely to offer a loving home to an otherwise rejected life.

We are fortunate to live in a rural area making lock down easier to bear. I’m currently working on a new research paper.
