Is there a job you wouldn’t want to do?

For me, prison officer. Can’t see how they get anyone to apply.

There are loads of jobs I would not want to do.

I wouldn't want to do the majority of jobs I have actually done, I think.

Easily the worst being breakfast chef in a hotel. That was pretty crap. I've done loads of cheffing througb life but it is a shit job

Canary, I went to school with someone who went on to become a Prison Governor.  He was (and probably still is) a very calm individual.  I am in no doubt that he (as I knew him) was right for the job.

‘Far right online meatshield. The pay would have to be astronomical.‘

The pay is shite. They top it up with grifts- their equivalent of commission - crowdfunders etc.

This risky bloke is certainly a character isn't he.

M8sun it is nowhere near taking loads of people's jobs. It just isn't

I am quite familiar with this stuff. Most of what AI is being put to is stuff that could be done with linear regression.

Rhamnousia  - the Prison Governor I know is a good man.  He is in charge of you know where in Edinburgh.

He is calm and controlled.  A good man for the job.

Prison officer sounds bad, but I don't think I'd do Jim's job either. Also nothing requiring empathy, so all the caring types of role are out. No childcare or teaching unless adults, and nothing with lots of public interaction.

It's lucky I have a job actually, I'm not suited for much else.

It's the hell of middle management, adding in a bit that my role means I know what goes on above me.  I see bad behaviour and bending of rules, and what other people are paid, and yet I'm required to parrot platitudes downwards knowing they are utter rubbish.  Also the scope of my role is global, but not really with global coverage outside the largest geographical areas so I'm always reacting to the latest panic in some unforeseen jurisdiction.  Also several acquisitions mean lots of fear and loathing from various acquired people who want it to be like the olden days, but it isn't any more.  The subject matter of what I do is inevitably endless conflict and I collect responsibility for every random nutter who emails our CEO.  I get paid OK, but Christ I don't know how much longer I can do it trying to pretend I enjoy it.

Winston Wolfe had a good job.

Coincidentally the best compliment I ever had at work is when a member of our XCo said he was always happy when I showed up on a matter because I was like Mr Wolfe. 😀
