A man identifed as a graduate of Washington School of law has been charged with sticking up a Missouri bank.

Warren Gladders, 64, donned a mask and rubber gloves to hold up the First Bank of Dutzow last Friday. After threatening staff and customers with a small gun he made off with $40k. A customer's wife waiting outside watched Gladders flee in his Ronald Reagan (unconfirmed) rubber mask and marigolds (unconfirmed) and called police.

40 minutes down the road a state trooper pulled Gladders over and the ex-student-cum-scarface opened fire with a sawn-off shotgun. The trooper was hit in the chest, but returned fire and shot the grizzled law grad in both legs.

    It's probably its fault

Happily the trooper was wearing a bulletproof vest and only suffered chest bruising. Unhappily Gladders was wearing normal trousers and did get shot in the legs.

Gladders, after hopefully pulling a brief Black Knight impression, was subdued and charged with robbery, possession of an illegal firearm and first degree assault on a law enforcement officer. His defence may or may not revolve around the crippling financial burden of his student loan debt.
