David Irving, the convicted Holocaust denier, is being kicked out of the house he rents from White & Case partner Philip Stopford.

When RollOnFriday pointed out that Stopford - White & Case's Head of Energy and partner in charge of trainee recruitment - was making money from Irving, the firm was quick to stress that it was merely an arms length transaction and there was nothing to worry about. However, Stopford has now served notice - and Irving claims on his website that this was because of pressure from W&C's "New York branch" and "the enemy".

A spokesman for White & Case stated that "the only relationship is that of tenant and landlord. The tenant was given notice of termination of the lease and is leaving the property. The Firm does not intend to comment further on this matter”.
