A US District Attorney is being removed from office after sending dozens of inappropriate texts to a crime victim.

Kenneth Kratz, Calumet County DA, first met Stephanie Van Groll when he was prosecuting her ex-boyfriend for nearly choking her to death. Ignoring what most would regard to be a pretty clear no go zone, he inundated her with texts including:

"Are you the kind of girl that likes secret contact with an older, married DA... the riskier the better?"

"I would not expect you to be the other woman. I would want you to be so hot and treat me so well that you'd be THE woman! RU that good?"

And RollOnFriday's favourite:

"I have the $350,000 house. I have the 6-figure career. You may be the tall, young, hot nymph but I am the prize!"

     Kenneth Kratz: the prize.

Van Groll complained to police and, since Associated Press broke the story, two other women have alleged that Kratz pursued them.

Wisconsin's Governor confirmed on Wednesday that he would remove Kratz from office.
