There was further evidence of a growing trend to outsource work to New Zealand, with the news that UK firms Lewis Silkin and Memery Crystal were both taking part in such arrangements.

RollOnFriday reported last week that Minter Ellison had begun to outsource UK work to NZ. And it's now been revealed that it is doing so for London outfit Lewis Silkin, according to a report in The Lawyer. The work relates to a highly-specialised discipline for which Kiwis are renowned: rugby. In this instance that means sponsorship agreements, disciplinary work and disputes. Minters is also reported to be outsourcing energy work to its NZ offices on behalf of London boutique firm Memery Crystal.

     Outsourcing, Minter Ellison-style

Meanwhile, it has also been revealed that Aussie firm Advent Lawyers, will be outsourcing its domestic legal work to India through an arrangement with legal process outsourcing firm Pangea3. And Pangea3 has aggressively recruiting as it gears up for an anticpated rise in such arrangements: "In the past month, we have recruited more than 50 lawyers and within the next 3-6 months, we expect to recruit more than 100 additional lawyers for our Delhi facility" co-CEO Sanjay Kamlani told Business Standard.

England, Australia, New Zealand and India. The list might almost be mistaken for the World Twenty 20 semi-finalists.
