Ince & Co and Mayer Brown have both withdrawn their students from Kaplan Law School days before lectures are due to begin. They are sending their future trainees to BPP with immediate effect.

Kaplan Law School will be closing down, but not until the end of 2016. However its impending death has prompted several firms to pull out a year early. This week Ince & Co told its LPC students that they will now be enrolled at BPP, and Mayer Brown has told its GDL and LPC students the same.

Meanwhile Penningtons Manches has notified its future trainees that they can opt to switch from Kaplan to the University of Law, pending a full review of LPC providers by the firm. Leaving it up to students to weigh up the advantage of a better-than-expected teacher/pupil ratio against the despair seeping from Kaplan staff and the very bricks of the building itself.

    Arrrggghhh don't touch me Kaplan!

Mayer Brown Global Chief HR Officer Annette Sheridan told RollOnFriday that picking its new provider was not easy but that, "having considered both options we believe BPP best meets our needs". She added that Mayer Brown looked forward to continuing its relationship with ULaw through their legal apprenticeship programme.

With Ince & Co, Mayer Brown, Nabarro and HFW all plumping for BPP and Penningtons giving ULaw the sort-of-nod, the Kaplan Memorial Match score now stands at BPP 4, ULaw 1. No other Kaplan clients (which include Bates Wells Braithwaite, fieldfisher, Farrer & Co and Davis Polk) are expected to ditch it before term starts.

Meanwhile, as Kaplan commits suicide, BPP has killed off the entire hoodie industry with a single tweet starring its Dean:
