A US judge is facing ruin after being photographed caressing an attorney.
Nevada judge Steven Jones is accused of being romantically involved with prosecutor Lisa Willardson while she was appearing before him in court. Two of Willardson's female colleagues exposed the alleged affair by taking a photo of Jones feeling Willardson's leg under a table at a party. They showed to the photo to the disctrict attorney, who sacked Willardson.
Jones has now been called before the Nevada Commission on Judicial Discipline and faces removal from the bench for failure to disclose a conflict of interest. The commission has heard how Jones and Willardson exchanged hundreds of sexy texts and emails during the crucial period, and that Willardson even sent a text to Jones' assistant calling the judge "freaking hot".
However Jones' attorney claims the pair were not engaged in a relationship until much later. He said Willardson's former colleagues have lied under oath because they were part of a jealous "ladies" fan club of Jones. He said they were guilty of "adolescent and possibly criminal conduct" and should be prosecuted for taking the clandestine photo of Jones.
It's going to be a tough year for Jones. He had already been suspended after being indicted by a federal grand jury in an alleged $3 million investment fraud scheme. He is due to stand trial in March.
