As an alpha male who cares about (in no particular order), gay rights, women's rights, all human rights, football, the working classes and generally not being cucked by a sportswasher
I am entirely indifferent to the regime marketing entity that was formerly Newcastle FC, as I am indifferent to the "success" or otherwise of other former football clubs or similar entities like Saudi Air. Yawn. Save my emotional energy for lolling at man u.
Innit Merkz. Foden and Lewis starring for city too.
Meanwhile thousands of tickets at the swamp on general sale on Tuesday cos the tourists are switching back to Chelsea, taken by Gala fans who had the run of the gaff.
This is why there will never be a workers' revolution. Ashley, local lad made good, runs club at a profit, hated. Saudis, dismember journalists, hate women, committing war crimes, but they put a few bob in, adored.
Newcastle have flattered to deceive before- on the cusp of achieving something, then all collapsing. Their lack of achievement over the years despite such incredible support is something to behold and I would not have too much faith that it will not all collapse again as it has before.
As a Boro fan I’ve always previously had a soft spot for Nyacassle. I loved Bobby Robson (his nephew used to cut my hair 😀) and the Keenan Asprilla times. I think it’s sad how they’ve sold out to torturers and murderers, so it doesn’t “rag” me that they’re in the Champs League or in the top places. Ultimately I don’t think they’ll win anything decent when City, Arsenal, Liverpool are around and good so it sums them up perfectly really. Moral sellouts, blood money, and still bottlers.
i too have always had a soft spot for newcastle and i am glad to see them doing well.
less pleased that their success has come on the back of money from a planet-killing, woman-hating, journo-chopping regime whose sole interest in the club is to distract from all those things, but you can't have everything i suppose.
i'll be catching up with their CCO in a couple of weeks, Laz. you want me to ask if he has any roles appropriate for someone of your expertise? an unpaid internship, perhaps?
Yes mixed feelings. Keegan's team is probably my favourite other team in the UK of all time, though I suppose a product of financial doping as well. Glad they beat PSG though as it's a general massive embarrassment to football though a handy guide to European footballing mercenaries.
It is perfectly possible to like anything without being arsed to actually go and in fact 95% of the time sporting events are better on TV. Same for many gigs, it's a fooking shag going.
I have an affection for Newcastle as I lived there for a short time as a kid. Was on the KX to Edinburgh on match day recently. (The Dortmund match.) A load of fans got on at Newcastle. Absolutely no idea what any of them were saying apart from one word. Mackem. That made me lol. One was drinking MD 20/20 and very kindly offering everyone in the carriage a swig from the bottle while telling a random kid that the best thing his Dad will ever do for him is take him to the match.
Despite growing up in Middlesbrough I never knew the derivation of “Mackem” until very recently. It’s from them building ships. They said “we mackem and you teckem”.
I know we don't control football or want to sportswash (instead we focus on developing youth talent and entertaining working class passionate fans) but the level of complaints from Saudi FC against Qatar controlled uefa is just sad
I did warn you
As did anyone who follows, cares for or understands football
As a spurs man, I appreciate the way the toon lured you into a false sense of hope with the first half goal (think dortmund were beating psg at the same stage).
Chinorder giving it about spaffing money when he supports a club that has spent half a billion on centre backs who are actually good and formed a team which has won everything and made United look like the small team they are

tbf Newcastle is one of the few places where being called United actually has a point.
Every club called United where there is another senior club in the municipality should be banned under the Trade Descriptions Act.

Just generic sportswashing fc #4. This one wears black and white but otherwise they are exactly like all the others
struggle to care at this stage really

Wasn't on at the weekend but here now.
I do find it strange how much of the focus following the result on Saturday has been negative on United.
It was an excellent performance from Newcastle. I thought it was verging on criminal that Livramento did not get MOTM, as well as Gordon played.
Trippier was excellent, as was Isak. Guimaeres is looking like an absolute steal given his quality and the young local lad looks very promising too.
United were dogsh1t but the story of the match for me was how impressive Newcastle were.
