With Winter fast approaching (notwithstanding Global Warming obfuscating the changing seasons), we have relished the opportunity to whittle down our 'respectable' 45 shot handicap by playing through the Winter. Any golfer who's worth his tees knows that playing through the colder months is the only way to improve your game - which is why we've steadfastly avoided it for the last decade. Frankly - it's too cold out to be dragging yourself around frosted winter greens in search of the puddle currently home to your ball.

It was, therefore, with some degree of relish and glee that we discovered Knightsbridge Golf School - an indoor teaching phenomenon.

Most are fooled into thinking they've been duped when they arrive outside the KGS' headquarters on Lowndes Square. Yes, it feels like you've arrived at a random block of flats, but in its belly is arguably the best golf school in central London.

Almost like you've wandered through the rabbit hole, you enter a wondrous world of all things golf. The facility is a series of squash courts converted into a driving range. A Man-Haven? Perhaps.

Frank's hours spent with KGS had paid off and his was finally ready to streak the Open

With cameras, enthusiasm and simple instructions, the tutors at KGS help hapless hackers transform their swing. It feels awkward at first; it's hard to escape the truth that your swing needs help, although the camera never lies. It's not a pretty sight.

Have no fear, with their walls plastered with celebrity endorsements, it's clear that KGS have the skills to help golfers of all standards improve around the course. They have literally written the book on swing tuition. With the nights drawing in and the weather on the turn, this is the perfect place to keep the game going through the winter.

Best of all, once you're done with your lesson, you can wander into busy Knightsbridge within 2 minutes to hit the 19th.
