In honour of the bank holiday weekend, here's something different to the normal...

Everyone has had one of those gripes. Something that has angered or embarrassed you so much that you are desperate to tell anyone. You have to tell somebody - keeping it in might give you an ulcer or something. Sometimes, however, especially for those loners out there, it's hard to find someone that will care and writing it in your diary each night isn't the cathartic experience you were hoping for. It's times like those that we are grateful for outlets like FML.

Originally a private chat room in France for people to share complaints about their life, FML quickly grew and blossomed in cult popularity until it was re-launched with its own website in 2009. Since then, hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world have joined to vent their spleens to the delight (and votes) of the watching world.

Frank really didn't have anything to complain about - he had several 100 post discussions and his mum bought his clothes. Rock on.

A simple premise really - submit whichever story is gripping your fancy and then sit back and relax, safe in the knowledge that you have shared your problem with millions of prying eyes in an attempt to prove that your life is worse than most. Readers then get the option to vote whether you deserved it or if your life really does suck. Not really an accolade either way to be honest.

The complaints themselves fall into various categories (e.g Love, Money, Kids, Work) and can be hilarious, charming, slightly disturbing (especially if you can imagine it happening to you) and strangely uplifting when you realise your gripes are nothing when compared to some people's problems.

Whatever they are, the confessions are strangely moreish and you'll undoubtedly find yourself sucked into the strange and hilarious FML world. Be warned - we started idly flicking through the 'Top FML's' only to lose all sense of time. We were only able to break off, 14 hours later, with the pressing need to use the toilet
