News reaches of a case of extreme legal interest currently running through the US courts, the fascinating matter of Paul Hupp v Educational Credit Management Corporation.

The plaintiff, one Paul Hupp, notes that it involves "several issues of great importance, including Constitutional issues that are of first impression nationwide. Issues so important that the Unites [sic] States of America intervened into the case to defend them".

Now that does sound important. Is it something about one of those perennial hot potatoes - gun control or abortion or the like?

No. It's Paul Hupp's student loan.

And so we enter the mind of the plaintiff. Who - RollOnFriday readers will be unsurprised to learn - is a litigant in person. And is presenting an argument likely only clear in the mind of Paul Hupp himself.

From the facts briefly presented in 9th Circuit Case No.: 08-56403, the matter appears to stem from an amount of money Hupp borrowed at some stage, a total of $6,400. It funded him through teacher training and it now appears that he can't get a job. Which is - says Paul - the fault of the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Who keep inteferring with him. Not in a good way.

From small $6,400 acorns, enormous $80,000 debt oaks grow. And then flower into legal suits. Hupp now has quite the bee in his bonnet (and we might too, if our loans had grown in quite so large a way).

Quite what has happened to Paul is difficult to comprehend. What's obvious is that a previous judgment hasn't gone his way. And that's made him mad. Absolutely eye-bulgingly, teeth-gnashingly, barking, furious mad. And his eight page venting of spleen is, consequently, a wonderful sight to behold.

To start, Messrs Bowie, Danby, Thomas and Fletcher are described as "slime ball, piece of sh*t, ass clown judges". Presumably they're the quartet who previously found against Mr Hudd.

Superbly, the language takes a downward turn from then on, with a liberal sprinkling of "c*ck suckers", "bitches", "motherf*cking liars". And - RollOnFriday's favourite - the unintelligible "ass clown". If anyone knows what this means, please write in and tell us.

There's plenty of green ink about fraud and misconduct. And - most worryingly of all - the civil unrest which may stem from Paul Hudd not receiving a satisfactory end to his suit. Quite how he wants it to end is known only to Paul (presumably now hiding in a log cabin in the wilderness). Insurrection is not unlikely - "civil unrest is going to start at the doorsteps of the slim ball, mother-f*cking judges that allowed, engaged in and perpetuated it [Paul's matter, whatever it is]".

Hupp ends with a strong counterblast: "YOU C*CK S*CKING MOTHER F*CKERS ARE ON NOTICE". Get your tin helmet ready now.

The entire pleading is available here. A warning - some of the language (as you may have guessed) is rather...ummm...fruity.
