There was good news for associates at Hogan Lovells this week. Letters went out with salary rises, and it looks like the bands have been increased by a couple of per cent.
A spokeswoman for the firm would only confirm the figures for 1st seat trainees (£37k) and NQs (£60k). But insiders have told RollOnFriday that the overall picture is:
Whilst these figures are a little lighter than most of the Magic Circle, they are pretty much on a par with Slaughter and May. And RollOnFriday informers say strong performers are paid more and have received reasonable bonuses.
It's not the biggest rise, particularly given that it seems pay rises are gathering some considerable momentum. But as one associate said thoughtfully, "it's better than a slap in the face with a wet fish".
